w/ Talk From Dr Daniel Martin
Out of all the great films released every year in Korean, The Front Line is Korea's official submission into the 84th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. It is a much deserved choice being an explosive and incredibly emotional story, thrilling you one minute and bringing you to tears the next.
Near the end of 'The Forgotten War' a bloody, never-ending battle, raged over the capture of a tiny hill at the North and South border. The fighting was so intense that the hill would swap hands several times a day. To devise a winning plan Kang travels to the battle and is confronted by the transforming nature of War and the effects it has had on the ones he loves.
Before the screening there will be a short talk from Dr Daniel Martin lecturer from Queens University, Belfast to give some context to the feature.
