Seo-young (Chun Woo-hee) is in a precarious position. A thirty-something who has left her rural home to escape a troubled past that will never quite let her go, she is now a contract worker in a prestigious Seoul office. Constantly at the whim of male superiors and at risk of losing her job, she is compromised by a secret affair with her immediate boss (Yoo Teo). Still bearing the scars of childhood trauma, she struggles to maintain her centre of gravity in the company's high-rise building, noticed only by an attentive window cleaner (Jeong Jae-kwang).
The drifting cinematography and woozy sound design of Jeon Kye-soo’s film capture the dizzy disorientation of a protagonist losing her grip. Ultimately rather different from the Hitchcockian thriller that its title might suggest, this nonetheless remains a swooning, increasingly tense portrait of a young woman who is on the edge, with little sense of balance.
