Widower Sonny moves with his teen son Ha-joon and much younger daughter Hana to a rural Canadian town, to take up a job hunting stray dogs. It’s a welcoming, though slightly strange, land, requiring all three to forge new paths, while holding on to their past. Korean-Canadian Jerome Yoo’s feature debut employs dreamy magical realism to offer a fascinating take on the diaspora experience.
